Design Category C
Category C describes design conditions up to Beaufort Force 6 wind and 2 m significant wave height. Individual waves can be higher.
Follow the builder’s plate and owner’s manual for your WaterCar’s certified configuration, loading and operating limits. Choose conditions for your crew and experience.

Recreational motorboat
A boat in the 16 ft to under 26 ft range falls within the traditional Class 1 length group. That is a size category, not a CE-equivalent seaworthiness rating.
U.S. registration, safety equipment and operating requirements depend on the boat, location and use.
Two different classifications. CE Category C describes design conditions. The U.S. length group describes size. Neither replaces local navigation rules or the limits in your boat’s manual.
Approximate water speed. Actual performance varies with configuration, load and conditions.

What is an LSV?
LSV means low-speed vehicle. It is a U.S. road-vehicle category with a 25 mph maximum speed and its own federal equipment requirements, including lighting, mirrors, a windshield, seat belts and a VIN.
LSV equipment requirements differ from passenger-car crash-protection standards. WaterCar’s land drive is intended for permitted local routes, not highway driving.
Where can you drive?
State and local rules determine road access. For example, California restricts LSVs from roads posted above 35 mph. Rules for routes, crossings, registration, licensing and insurance vary by location.
Check your intended route with the relevant local authority. U.S. LSV status does not establish road permission in another country.
Going farther? For longer road journeys, talk with us about Tow Mode or arranged transport. On the water, the outboard powers your WaterCar.

Lakes, rivers, bays and coastal outings. Tell us about the water you use and the kind of boating you enjoy.
Your launch area
Send photos of the approach, shoreline or ramp, plus the surface and slope. A short video or video link can help show the route from land to water.
Your route to the water
Tell us how you plan to get there: Tow Mode, a carrier, or a local road route. Include your city and country so we can discuss your setup.
Talk through your setup
Email photos or a video link and tell us what you want to do. We can discuss the model, equipment and practical questions for your location. Photos alone cannot establish safe access or permission to use a site.
