ENGINEERING
Boat first.
Engineered for both.
A welded aluminum hull. Retractable wheels. Two power systems, built to work together.
01 / THE FOUNDATION
One structure.
Built to do more.
The marine-grade aluminum hull and its reinforcements are welded into one unibody structure. The boat and its running gear start here.
The hull and internal reinforcements form a unified structure that supports both the boat and its road systems. Each hull is welded and finished by hand in Southern California.
The battery and key components sit low in the hull to help keep the center of gravity low.
02 / BUILT FOR THE WATER
Protected from
the inside out.
Epoxy coating throughout. Closed-cell foam within the hull.
The hull rotates through 360 degrees during epoxy application, giving the team access around the structure.
Closed-cell foam is integrated into the hull cavities. Explore the construction, flotation testing and certification details on Safety & Standards →.
03 / THE RUNNING GEAR
The details
that make it work.
Retractable wheels, hydraulic suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. Take a closer look at the systems beneath the boat.
The wheels retract hydraulically for boating and lower again for driving. The system brings together suspension components, sealed bearings and 316 stainless-steel hydraulic cylinders.
Four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes use Wilwood components, stainless-steel rotors and composite pads for controlled, low-speed driving.
The electric drive moves WaterCar on land and charges from an ordinary wall outlet. On the water, a Mercury outboard provides marine propulsion.
Major marine and automotive components can be serviced by technicians familiar with those systems. Explore service and support →.

04 / SEE IT WORK
Now watch it move.
Driving. Launching. Cruising. Towing. Across the sand. See the systems work together in real footage.
