  • The WaterCar EV is an aluminum hand-built vehicle made to order, similar to high end aircraft, boats, and sports cars. Unlike mass-produced boats, the pricing for each WaterCar EV varies depending on the intended use, options, and outboard selection. Due to the intensive labor required to build each WaterCar EV, the pricing is not fixed.

We are accepting orders and delivering on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve your spot, you will need to make an initial refundable $5,000 deposit.

  • A refundable $5,000 deposit is required to secure your place in our production schedule. As with most high-end, hand-crafted vehicles produced in select numbers each year, it is common to submit a deposit. This step confirms the commitment of buyers and allows us to dedicate the resources needed to build each WaterCar EV to the highest standard.

Your deposit also opens the door for a personal visit, where you’ll have the opportunity to meet our team and experience a test drive — both on the road and on the water.

  • The WaterCar EV is hand-built from advanced aluminum alloys using methods found in high-end boats and luxury sports cars. Each vehicle is crafted through bonding, MIG and TIG welding, laser welding and cutting, and intricate bending and assembly. Unlike mass-produced, stamped construction, this approach combines advanced fabrication with hands-on craftsmanship, giving every WaterCar EV its unique character and strength.

Because production is limited and demand continues to grow, only a select number of customers will have the opportunity to own one. Typical build time is 8–12 weeks, though scheduling depends on the number of orders in our production queue. Joining the waitlist secures your place in line.

  • Yes, you can go for a test drive with us!

As part of our policy, we require the refundable deposit before scheduling a WaterCar EV test drive. Once your deposit is placed, you’ll have the opportunity to book a private visit and experience the vehicle firsthand.

Your test drive is a half-day experience, typically lasting about four hours. During your visit, we’ll guide you through the vehicle on land and on the water, showcase all its features, and then hand the controls over so you can enjoy driving it yourself.

  • Yes, all major components of the WaterCar EV are backed by warranties from their original manufacturers, just like you would expect with a traditional boat or car.

For example, the Mercury outboard carries a 3-year OEM factory warranty, and the lithium battery carries an 8-year OEM factory warranty. Each warranty is provided and administered directly by the respective manufacturer.

  • We ship WaterCar EVs worldwide from our manufacturing facility in California, USA, and have successfully delivered vehicles to more than 50 countries around the globe.

  • WaterCar has been building amphibious boats and cars since 1999 — more than 25 years of innovation and experience. Our vehicles have been featured in Forbes, Popular Mechanics, Yahoo.com, MotorTrend, and many other publications worldwide.

  • The WaterCar EV is classified under two established categories:

On land: A fully compliant Low Speed Vehicle (LSV/NEV) under FMVSS 500, titled and registered with a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) for on-road use up to 25 mph.

On water: A recreational vessel that meets all U.S. Coast Guard safety requirements (capacity plate, flotation foam, navigation lights), titled and registered with a Hull Identification Number (HIN).

This dual classification makes the vehicle registerable, insurable, and operable using the same policies already applied to LSVs on the road and boats on the water.
